A record-breaking cohort of 26 MPs of Indian origin are poised to join the UK Parliament following the latest General Election results, a marked increase from 15 five years ago. Leading the charge is Conservative Party leader Rishi Sunak, who secured victory in the Richmond and Northallerton constituency in Yorkshire, becoming the first UK Prime Minister of Indian descent. Alongside Sunak, 25 other Indian-origin MPs emerged triumphant on Friday, including 20 from the Labour Party and five from the Conservatives.

Valerie Vaz, Labour leader of Goan descent, clinched victory for the fifth consecutive time in Walsall and Bloxwich, a seat she has held since 2010, serving prominently as the Shadow Leader of the House of Commons. Lisa Nandy's retention of her seat in Wigan solidifies her position as the constituency's first female MP and one of the first Asian female MPs since 2010, while also serving as Shadow Cabinet Minister for International Development.
Nadia Whittome, known as the UK's youngest MP since 2019 at age 23, secured re-election from Nottingham East.
