The Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said Moscow was worried about the enhanced presence of NATO forces in the Black Sea, which for Russia meant a threat, and they would definitely take proper measures to ensure security. According to Peskov, the concentrated presence by NATO ships, with Bulgaria and Romania as coastal members, is a further risk to Russia since NATO is directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict.
According to the Xinhua news agency, Peskov said Russia would take all possible measures to ensure its security. He did so after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's latest decree, outlining a new maritime security strategy that provides for strengthening Ukraine's naval forces with the permanent presence of NATO forces in the Black Sea.
