Jordanian King Abdullah II said that his country was committed to the sovereignty, security, and stability of Lebanon.
Jordan stands ready to assist the Lebanese, easing the shocks of the war in Lebanon, King Abdullah II said while meeting Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati in Amman, according to a statement from the Royal Hashemite Court on Monday.
The king said Jordan is cooperating with Arab and international key actors to stop the Israeli war on Lebanon, Xinhua news agency reported.
He warned that the continuation and escalation of the conflict could trigger a regional war with grave consequences.
For his part, Mikati thanked the king for Jordan's constant support for Lebanon, particularly his efforts to halt the Israeli war.
Lebanese Prime Minister said he was thankful to the relief that Jordan gives them in assisting those displaced by the battle.
Since last year's October, Hezbollah and the Israeli army started exchanging fire across the Lebanese-Israeli border.
According to Hezbollah, its attacks on Israeli targets were meant to be a show of solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
In a dangerous escalation with Hezbollah, Israel launched an intensive attack on Lebanon on September 23.
