The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have intensified their search efforts for Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who is believed to have orchestrated the October 7 attack on Israel.
According to sources within the Israeli defense ministry, the IDF escalated its pursuit of Sinwar following intelligence reports indicating that he was suffering from pneumonia.
Earlier statements by Israel Defense Minister Yoav Gallant suggested that Sinwar would be targeted for elimination.
IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari publicly affirmed that one of the primary objectives of the ongoing military campaign was to neutralize Sinwar.
Reports suggest that Sinwar, accompanied by his two wives and children, is currently located in the vicinity of Khan Younis and is potentially holding Israeli hostages.
However, IDF sources have refuted claims from Arab media outlets suggesting that Sinwar has fled to Egypt's Sinai province, along with his brother Mohammed Sinwar.
