The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Saturday that it had targeted and killed several Hamas personnel as they advanced on southern Gaza after capturing Khan Yunis city, the hometown of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. The IDF stated that both the air force and navy conducted strikes on cells of Hamas operatives and infrastructure throughout Gaza.
Witnesses reported intense Israeli tank fire and aerial bombings in Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Additional reports mentioned airstrikes on the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza. The IDF also reportedly destroyed two buildings used by Hamas in Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza, seizing significant amounts of arms and ammunition.
