Israel Officially Labels LeT as a Designated Terror Organization

Not specifically requested by the Indian government, Israel undertook a comprehensive process, independent of external solicitation, to officially include LeT in its roster of outlawed terrorist entities.

Israel recently marked the 15th year since the tragic 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks by announcing the formal designation of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) as a terrorist organization, a move that symbolizes solidarity in the global fight against terrorism.

Not specifically requested by the Indian government, Israel undertook a comprehensive process, independent of external solicitation, to officially include LeT in its roster of outlawed terrorist entities. The Israeli Embassy in New Delhi affirmed that all requisite protocols and assessments were meticulously fulfilled to ensure LeT's inclusion as an illegal terrorist organization.

Israel typically lists groups actively engaging in activities against its sovereignty or operating similarly to those recognized by the UN Security Council or the US State Department. Despite this criterion, Israel's Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs collaborated intensively over recent months to expedite the extraordinary listing of LeT, underscoring the imperative need for a united global front against terrorism.

Describing LeT as a deplorable and lethal terrorist outfit responsible for the loss of countless Indian lives and others, Israel emphasized the enduring impact of LeT's atrocious acts on November 26, 2008, resonating profoundly across peace-seeking nations and societies worldwide.
