Israel Confirms the Elimination of Hamas Chief Yahya Sinwar

Sinwar, at the helm of Hamas political bureau since Ismail Haniyeh, had been living in the tunnel network of Gaza since October 7. Regarding talks between Israel with Hamas to leave Gaza in exchange for the release of the hostages, Sinwar declared that he would not leave the city and fight. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented regarding the killing of Sinwar that "although the blow was so heavy for Hamas, neutralizing the terrorists involved in the attacks and returning the kidnapped remains remain fully intact, and will continue."
