Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that Iran does not seek war, but will respond if Israel acts against the country.
Pezeshkian made the remarks here on Wednesday after his meeting with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani during his official two-day visit, which aimed to strengthen bilateral ties and regional cooperation, Xinhua news agency reported.
Speaking at Iran's Media before his departure, Pezeshkian said: "In this visit, we will try to achieve two objectives. First and foremost, we will negotiate with the Qatari government on cooperation agreements."
That aside, "we will review the acute situation in the region with regards to Israel's breach of international law and crimes against civilians," Pezeshkian said. "If the Zionist regime does not cease its crimes, it will be met with even tougher reactions."
In addition, Pezeshkian is scheduled to attend the Asia Cooperation Dialogue Summit to be held here tomorrow.
