Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande has engaged in high-level professional dialogues with his American counterpart, General Randy George, and other esteemed military officials, underscoring bilateral importance and a shared commitment to global peace and security.
This significant exchange occurred during Gen Pande's landmark four-day official visit to the United States commencing on February 13, marking the first visit by an Indian Army chief to the nation in several years.
According to an official communication from the Additional Directorate General of Public Information of the Indian Army, the discussions centered on crucial bilateral matters and the strengthening of mutual dedication towards global peace and security objectives.
As part of his visit, Gen Pande commenced by reviewing the US Army Honour Guard upon arrival at Fort Myers. In a poignant ceremony at the Arlington National Cemetery, he paid homage by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, honoring the sacrifices made in service of their respective nations.
The visit also facilitated substantive exchanges as Gen Pande participated in high-level professional discussions with General Randy George, Chief of Staff of the United States Army, alongside other senior military leaders, as detailed in the official communication.
Further enhancing cooperation and understanding, Gen Pande visited the Army Geospatial Centre at Fort Belvoir and engaged with officials. Additionally, he interacted with the Vice President of the National Defense University at Fort McNair, fostering dialogue and collaboration in defense-related matters.
In a diplomatic gesture, Gen Pande visited the Indian Embassy in Washington DC, where he engaged with Sripriya Ranganathan, Charge d’Affaires, to discuss ongoing and prospective initiatives, reaffirming the robust Indo-American relationship in matters of strategic importance.
