IDF Progresses with Eastern Area Preparation for Buffer Zone

Media reports suggest that these military operations are part of an ongoing effort to clear and establish a buffer zone in the entire eastern area of Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have reportedly intensified their artillery shelling campaign along the eastern border, resulting in the destruction of additional residential buildings in various areas of Gaza, including Khan Younis, Rafah, the central region, and the northern part of the territory.

Media reports suggest that these military operations are part of an ongoing effort to clear and establish a buffer zone in the entire eastern area of Gaza. The Israeli military's actions in the central part have led to evacuation orders in Rafah city, where a significant number of displaced Palestinians continue to seek shelter.

The reports indicate that Rafah, with an initial population of 260,000, is witnessing an influx of evacuees as Israel intensifies its operations.

The ground offensive launched by Israel inside Gaza on October 27 followed a surprise attack by Hamas on October 7, resulting in casualties on both sides. The conflict has seen a substantial number of Palestinian casualties, with reports stating that at least 21,110 Palestinians, including many children and women, have been killed, and 53,688 have been injured since the outbreak of hostilities between Hamas and Israel.
