Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk came out in full support for Donald Trump Sunday after the former President was nearly assassinated during the holding of a campaign rally.

Under his X account, Musk wrote, "I full endorse President Trump and wish him a speedy recovery."

He also lashed out at the US Secret Service, calling for the resignation of its head, Kimberly Cheatle, and the head of Trump's security detail. Musk posted, "Extreme incompetence or it was on purpose. Either way, the SS leadership must resign."

After the attacker had thus been neutralized, a composed Trump then rallied the audience to "Wait, wait, wait," raising his fist in solidarity and exhorting them to "Fight."

Musk went so far as to compare Trump to former President Theodore Roosevelt, citing the fact that he could hardly recall any other presidential candidate like him—maybe only former President Theodore Roosevelt, who served from 1901 to 1909.

On October 14, 1912, when he was campaigning for the presidency himself, Roosevelt narrowly escaped another plot against his life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He did have a bullet get lodged in his chest but gave his prepared speech before finally seeking medical attention; it remained there until his death in 1919 at age 60.
