Hamas Proposes Release of 50 Hostages for 5-Day Truce 

Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, conveyed through the Telegram channel that Qatari mediators are actively working towards releasing Israeli detainees in return for freeing 200 Palestinian children and 75 women. 

The Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, has communicated its willingness to release 50 women and children’s hostages in Gaza in exchange for a five-day ceasefire. 

Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, conveyed through the Telegram channel that Qatari mediators are actively working towards releasing Israeli detainees in return for freeing 200 Palestinian children and 75 women.

Stressing the importance of a ceasefire, he highlighted the need for a cessation of hostilities and the facilitation of aid entry into Gaza. 

The spokesperson emphasized that ongoing Israeli ground, naval, and aerial aggression poses a threat to the lives of detainees held by both Israeli forces and other armed Palestinian factions in Gaza.

The Israeli military's actions are seen as a response to Hamas-led attacks on October 7, resulting in approximately 1,200 casualties in Israel and the taking of about 240 hostages, according to Israeli figures.
