The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Tuesday confirmed the killing of Hamas' Nukhba Platoon commander, Abd al-Hadi Sabah, in a recent drone strike.
According to the IDF, Sabah had led the attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7, 2023, massacre.
The Nukhba Platoon commander in Hamas' Western Khan Yunis Battalion was eliminated in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza, the IDF added in its statement.
"Abd al-Hadi Sabah, a Nukhba Platoon Commander in the Western Khan Yunis Battalion was eliminated in an intelligence-based IDF and ISA strike," the IDF wrote on X.
They also include," Abd al-Hadi Sabah--who launched his operations from a shelter in the Humanitarian Area in Khan Younis--was one of the commanders of the infiltration into Kibbutz Nir Oz during the brutal October 7 massacre. Sabah also coordinated and spearheaded many terror attacks against IDF soldiers during the past war. The IDF and ISA will continue to act against all of the terrorists who carried out the brutal October 7 Massacre.
Earlier on Tuesday, the IDF and Shin Bet had confirmed that they had killed Anas Muhammad Saadi Masri, commander of the northern sector of the rocket unit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Masri was described as "a significant figure responsible for executing numerous terrorist operations, managing and directing actions by the organisation that targeted Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers.".
Since October 7, Masri had been directing rocket fire from northern Gaza toward Israeli border communities. He was also in charge of several operatives responsible for launching rockets into Israeli territory.
Previously, the IDF had reported that units operating with Israel's General Security Service, also known as Shin Bet, have eliminated 14 Hamas terrorists; of those, six had taken part in the massacre of October 7. Such operations are the product of the regular activity of the IDF's 162nd "Steel" Division in the Gaza Strip.
The 162nd Division operated in the areas of Jabalia and Beit Lahia, as part of the joint activity of the IDF and Shin Bet to locate and eliminate terrorists who took part in the attack on October 7.
The 162nd Division has been conducting operations in Jabalia and Beit Lahia in the general context of an effort by both the IDF and Shin Bet to find and remove the terrorists behind the October 7 attack.
On October 7 last year, Hamas launched a massive terror attack on Israel, killing more than 1,200 people and taking more than 250 hostages. Around 100 hostages remain in captivity, with many feared dead.
Israel responded with a sharp counterattack aimed at Hamas forces in Gaza. But the Israeli operation has claimed over 45,000 Palestinian casualties in Gaza. The civilian toll has only mounted, leading to global criticism and demands for a ceasefire.
It escalated further: The Houthi rebels in Yemen and the Hezbollah in Lebanon are Iran proxies and have accelerated offensives on Israel forcing Tel Aviv into multi-front battles.
