Errol Musk, Elon Musk's father, has opined that his son's current feud with former U.S. President Donald Trump is due to "PTSD" Trump suffered while in office. He also stated his belief that Elon got it wrong in standing up against Trump, who he foresees will win out in the end in their controversy.
So they had a row with that [bill], and because they're all suffering from a bit of PTSD, a post-traumatic stress disorder over the past few months, they began lashing out at one another," Errol explained, according to Metro.
The public spat between Tesla boss Elon Musk and Trump escalated after Musk attacked Trump's recent "Big, Beautiful Bill.
"But unfortunately, he doesn't know that in order to secure their votes in the Senate and the Congress, Trump has to do that," Errol added.
"They are the only remaining two in the arena, Trump and Elon, and all they were accustomed to was battling with the opposition. They've had a tremendous amount of stress for five months. And it relieves them. You know, they've had to eliminate all the opposition, attempt to put the country right, and do regular things and etc., he elaborated further.
Errol Musk said the two men have come under a lot of pressure in the last five months, and the introduction of the bill served as the point that pushed things too far.
"They're exhausted and stressed. And therefore you could expect something like this. It's nothing new. Trump will win. He's the president. He was elected to be the president, so Elon got it wrong, I believe. But he's exhausted. He's stressed."
The backlash started when Elon Musk openly criticized Trump's sweeping tax and domestic policy bill, labeling it a "disgusting abomination." Musk warned that the bill would significantly raise the federal deficit and potentially push the country toward a devastating debt crisis.
What began as a policy dispute rapidly turned personal, with Trump and Musk engaging in insults both on social media and in private. Musk also invoked past statements from Trump and Republican leaders about fiscal responsibility, adding to the competition.
