Former US President Donald Trump is reportedly mulling over launching a new political outfit of his own.
Trump has already discussed the possibility of setting up a new political party, Wall Street Journal reported quoting people familiar with the matter. Trump would like to call the new political outfit “Patriot Party” in line with his “America First” rhetoric, according to the report.
Trump is holding discussions with close aides over the new political outfit as he feels ditched by some of his Republican Party colleagues. After Capitol Hill violence by Trump supporters on January 6, several Republican Party members slammed the former US president for his alleged role in instigating the deadly riots.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a member of Republican Party, went to the extent of saying that the rioters were “provoked by the president and other powerful people, and they tried to use fear and violence” in an attempt “to stop and overturn the certification by Congress of Democrat Joe Biden’s November 3 election victory.”
In the United States, majority of voters have never been impressed by leaders of other parties other than the Republicans and the Democrats.

However, media reports suggest that Trump continues to retain a significant chunk of Republican voters, and if he launches a political outfit of his own, the new outfit is likely to cut into the Republican voter base.
