Indian-Americans residing in the city of Boston, USA, came together to celebrate the upcoming inauguration of the Ram Mandir (Temple) on January 22, along with India's 75th Republic Day. The event, hosted at the historic Union Station of Worcester, situated over 45 miles west of Boston, featured addresses by Worcester Mayor Joseph M. Petty and Massachusetts State Senator Mike Moore.
Mayor Petty took the occasion to issue a proclamation designating January 26 as the 75th Republic Day of India. The proclamation encouraged all residents of Worcester to acknowledge and participate in the observance, extending warm congratulations to the American Hindu, Sikh, Jain, and Asian-American communities on the auspicious inauguration of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
During his speech, Mayor Petty underscored the shared values between India and the USA, emphasizing the natural alliance between the two nations. State Senator Mike Moore, in his remarks, echoed this sentiment, expressing optimism that the inauguration would mark the conclusion of a 500-plus-year struggle and usher in an era of joy and prosperity for the people.
The event, attended by prominent community members, was organized by the Foundation of Indian Americans - New England. Abhishek Singh, the president of the foundation, described the inauguration of the Ram Mandir as a "dream come true" in his speech. Singh envisioned the beginning of a Ramrajya era, characterized by adherence to Shri Ram's principles and a promising future.
