Bill Gates, Who Donated $50 Million to Harris Campaign, Congratulates Trump

Microsoft co-founder and billionaire Bill Gates, who reportedly donated $50 million to one of US Vice-President Kamala Harris's political campaigns, on Friday wished the new President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, luck ahead of his inauguration.

"America is strongest at this moment when its ingenuity and innovation work to improve lives here in the U.S. and around the globe. I hope we can do that now-by working together to build a brighter future for everyone," Gates said.

The ex-wife of Bill Gates, Melinda Gates, also happened to be a supporter of Harris. "I feel like Kamala, I was happy to endorse," she stated during an episode of a CBS show in July. "I've worked with her before, she knows what we need in society and she's using her voice against those issues already on the campaign trail, and I knew she would.".

Bill Gates also joined the Big Tech leaders who congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential election.

Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg had said: "Congratulations to President Trump on a decisive victory. We have great opportunities ahead of us as a country. Looking forward to working with you and your administration."

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said he is "looking forward to engaging with you and your administration to drive innovation forward that creates new growth and opportunity for the United States and the world."

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman wished Trump "for his huge success in the job."
