In a somber announcement, President Joe Biden confirmed that American-Israeli Judith Weinstein, previously believed to have been kidnapped by Hamas, was tragically killed by the group on October 7. Biden expressed deep sorrow, particularly considering that Weinstein's husband, Gad Haggai, was believed to have been killed by Hamas as well.
President Biden pledged to persist in efforts to secure the release of other hostages still held by Hamas. Judith Weinstein, 70, was the last missing Canadian from the October 7 attack.
The Hostages and Missing Families Forum in Israel shared their condolences, highlighting Judith's lifelong dedication to teaching English and volunteering with seniors and children. The forum emphasized the enduring love shared by Judith and her husband Gadi Haggai, who provided their four children with a commendable model of partnership.
The tragic incident unfolded during a morning walk on October 7 in the fields of Kibbutz Nir Oz, where the couple resided.
