According to a media report, US President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have emerged victorious in the Democratic and Republican primaries respectively in the crucial swing state of Michigan. Biden secured a win over Minnesota congressman Dean Phillips, his sole opponent in the Democratic primary.
Meanwhile, Trump clinched victory over former US Ambassador to the United Nations and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley in the Republican primary. This victory marks the fifth state that Trump has swept in the primary contests.
The economy remains the top concern for 31 percent of Michigan voters, with other significant issues including immigration, threats to democracy, healthcare, housing affordability, education, crime, and abortion access, as indicated by a recent Emerson College Polling/The Hill survey.
