Macron noted the sustained commitment of France to support Ukraine as long as it was necessary.
Before their Saturday meeting, the clarity came from the administration of the US that it would take part in Macron's proposal to send military trainers to Ukraine. He spoke to leaders at NATO about it, and its supporters, with the final plan expected to be reached in a matter of a few days.
No US personnel will enter the conflict area, was yet a reminder of the President, while the White House confirmed that its position had not changed.
