The initial results released by Election Commission officials indicate that the Awami League, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has secured more than half of the seats in Bangladesh's Parliament following the general elections held on Sunday.
Reports from various parts of the country show the Awami League's significant success in securing parliamentary seats.
The elections aimed to elect 299 members of the Parliament, as reported by Xinhua news agency. However, voting in one constituency was postponed due to the unfortunate demise of a candidate.
