Bangladesh PM Exudes Confidence in Securing Fourth Consecutive Term Victory

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikha Hasina expressed confidence in winning the 12th parliamentary polls while speaking to reporters after casting her ballot. She conveyed her faith in the people of the country and her confidence in securing victory, as reported by Dhaka Tribune. 

Regarding the opposition, Hasina remarked that the BNP is a party formed by a military dictator who seized state power, branding them as a party of terrorists with no belief in elections.

The ongoing parliamentary elections have seen reports of sporadic violence. Awami League leader Zillur Rahman was found deceased near a polling center in Munshiganj, reported by The Daily Star. Additionally, clashes between Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) members and police occurred in Chattogram city's Chandgaon area, while in Hazaribagh near Dhaka, two crude bombs exploded near a polling center, injuring four individuals, including a child. 

Furthermore, voting in Narsingdi-4 (Monohardi-Belabo) was canceled due to allegations of ballot stuffing.

The voting, commenced at 8:00 am local time across over 42,000 polling centers, is set to continue until 4:00 pm.
