The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Sunday that one soldier was killed, while two others sustained injuries in Gaza during an encounter with Hamas.
The fallen soldier has been identified as Sergeant Yehonatan Maimon, a member of the Nahal Brigade's reconnaissance unit, hailing from Okfam in Israel.

Since the Israeli ground invasion of Gaza on October 27, at least 29 IDF soldiers have lost their lives. Since October 7, the IDF has recorded the loss of 346 soldiers.
