Speaking at Mount Rushmore against the backdrop of the towering granite memorial to former US presidents, Trump said the country's milestone anniversary should be viewed not only as a celebration of freedom but also as a defining moment in the struggle to preserve America's identity. As the United States marked the beginning of its 250th year of Independence, President Donald Trump delivered a strongly worded proclamation portraying Communism as the gravest threat to the nation's future, declaring that "Communism is a mortal threat to American Liberty."

Speaking at Mount Rushmore against the backdrop of the towering granite memorial to former US presidents, Trump said the country's milestone anniversary should be viewed not only as a celebration of freedom but also as a defining moment in the struggle to preserve America's identity. He described Communism as a destructive ideology that endangers the country's constitutional foundations.

"Yet as we approach this magnificent anniversary, we see our American identity under a renewed attack. A generation after we fought and won the Cold War against the menace of Communism, there is now a resurgence of the Communist menace in our land--including from newcomers to our country who embrace ideas totally opposed to our way of life. These are not mere political disagreements, like differences over taxes or regulations," he said.

"Communism is a mortal threat to American Liberty. It is the Greatest Threat to our Country including World War One, World War Two, Pearl Harbor, or 9/11. Because Communism is the enemy of Free People everywhere. It is the enemy of the Constitution. Above all, it is the Enemy of July 4th, 1776," he added.

During his address, Trump asserted that Communist ideology stands in direct opposition to the principles of life and liberty that have shaped the United States since its founding. He rejected what he described as the moral basis of Communism, calling it a "Godless" system that pursues its objectives without regard for the human consequences.

He also cautioned that such an ideology represents an inherent threat to democratic societies.
