Cristiano Ronaldo has kept up his streak of scoring in the soccer field. The 39-year-old player just set a new record by becoming the all-time top scorer in the Saudi Pro League.
Ronaldo scored two in his last game of the season to take his tally to 35 goals and overtake Abderrazak Hamdallah's previous best of 34 in 2019. Following that brilliant show, Ronaldo took to the social media platform 'X' and said, "I don’t follow the records, the records follow me," read the post by the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
That is the statement from the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. Ronaldo's Al-Nassr finished second at the end of the season, behind Al-Hilal, who had a phenomenal season, not losing in any of the 34 matches.
While Ronaldo is a prolific goal-scorer, he proved his distribution quality by finishing third in the league with 11 assists. Ronaldo had joined Al-Nassr in 2023 after his release by Manchester United.
He has raised the profile of the Saudi Pro League, and other stars like Karim Benzema, Neymar Jr., and Riyad Mahrez recently joined the Gulf region. As the all-time leading scorer for Portugal, Ronaldo is now focusing on the European Championship, which may be his last opportunity to bring another international title for his country.
