Salah showcased his scoring prowess with goals in both halves, marking his 119th goal involvement in 117 appearances for Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League. Despite two Darwin Nunez goals being disallowed for offside in the opening half-hour, Liverpool's dominance was evident. Nunez's first goal was ruled offside by VAR, and his exquisite overhead kick was nullified after a brilliant save by Brentford's Mark Flekken from Virgil van Dijk's header.

Brentford posed a threat on the counter-attack, but Liverpool took the lead six minutes before half-time when Nunez flicked to Salah. Salah made history by becoming the first player to score in each of Liverpool's first six home league matches of a season and the third to score or assist in 15 straight home Premier League appearances, joining Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry.

Salah later secured his brace shortly after the hour mark, heading in at the back post from a Tsimikas cross. Tsimikas contributed his second assist, passing to Diogo Jota, who emphatically scored from the edge of the box.

Liverpool's commanding performance elevated them to 27 points, positioning them above Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the Premier League table. With six wins in as many home matches this season, Liverpool is set to face leaders Manchester City in the first fixture after the international break. Meanwhile, Brentford's three-match winning streak came to an end, leaving them in 11th place with 16 points.
