Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table as they took the place of Manchester City while they entered the thrilling week of the season after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Manchester United.
This is a watershed moment for Arsenal, coming a quarter of a century since they last sat at the top of the Premier League table on the final day of the season. Securing a rare double over Manchester United for the first time since the 2006/07 season, Arsenal's latest victory took them back to the top of the league table, although Manchester City still have a game in hand over them.
The decisive moment came in the 20th minute when Leandro Trossard clinically dispatched a close-range effort, which proved to be the difference between the two sides. But Arsenal had to sweat it out with incessant threats from Amad and Alejandro Garnacho, among others.
The win lifted Arsenal one point clear of Manchester City, but Pep Guardiola's side still maintain the advantage with one game in hand to play against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday. The title race certainly remains in the hands of the Manchester City boss.
Manchester City will take on West Ham United on the final day, while for Arsenal, the big match will be at their home against Everton.
