Newcastle United secured an impressive 3-1 victory over Aston Villa, ending their run of four consecutive Premier League defeats and handing Villa their first home loss of the season.
Fabian Schar played a pivotal role in Newcastle's success, scoring a brace in the first half within a span of five minutes. The Swiss defender's clinical finishing set the tone for the visitors. The Magpies continued their dominance as Alex Moreno's own goal early in the second half all but sealed the victory for Eddie Howe's side.
Ollie Watkins managed to score a consolation goal for Villa, but it wasn't enough to alter the outcome. The win marked only Newcastle's second away victory of the season, lifting them to seventh place with 32 points. On the other hand, Villa, despite holding onto the fourth position, now have 43 points, trailing leaders Liverpool by five points after their 17-match unbeaten home run came to an end.
