Paris Saint-Germain secured their spot in the final of the Coupe de France (French Cup) following a gripping 1-0 victory against Stade Rennais in a hard-fought clash at the Parc des Princes.
During the initial half, PSG demonstrated dominance in their attacking play against Rennes. The Parisians managed to register six shots on target, whereas the visitors responded with three attempts of their own.
Despite the flurry of shots, the match remained deadlocked for the majority of the first 45 minutes. It wasn't until the 37th minute when Kylian Mbappe had the opportunity to break the deadlock from the penalty spot, only to be thwarted by Rennes goalkeeper Steve Mandanda, keeping the scores level.
However, the 25-year-old French forward quickly made amends for his miss, finding the back of the net in the 40th minute when his shot took a deflection off a Rennes defender, granting PSG the lead as they headed into the halftime break.
