During the politburo meeting of the central committee of the Workers' Party on Wednesday, officials analysed the significance of Kim's visit to Russia and introduced long-term plans for developing their bilateral relations, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.

"We have withstood the absolutely unprecedented external pressure, the sanctions onslaught of some ruling elites in the ... Western bloc ... in individual countries that we call unfriendly," Putin said on Monday during a meeting on the federal budget for 2024-2026, Xinhua news agency reported.

Kim extended the invitation at an official dinner with Putin on Wednesday night after their summit, the North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.

Putin's remarks followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the G20 Summit in New Delhi. India, the US, UAE, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy, and the European Union collaborated on the creation of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor.

Analysts have predicted that North Korea may agree to supply Russia with ammunition and weaponry for its war in Ukraine, reports Yonhap News Agency.

Russia's state-run TASS News Agency said that while Putin flew to Vostochny from the Primorye Region where he participated in the Eastern Economic Forum, Kim arrived on a train to the spaceport's rail station.

In his address to the plenary session of the 8th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok on Tuesday, Putin gave India's example while responding to a query about Russian-manufacture automobiles.

"We know and can see how the global economy has changed and is continuing to change in recent years, due to the fact that some countries, primarily Western ones, are destroying the system of financial, trade, and economic relations that they themselves built," Putin said during his speech at the plenary session of the 8th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), Xinhua news agency reported.

According to the BBC report, the green train with a yellow stripe train named 'Taeyangho', the Korean word for the sun and a symbolic reference to North Korea's founder Kim Il Sung, runs along at a speed of about 50km/h because of its heavy armoured protection.

The meeting between President Putin and North Korean supremo Kim Jong Un - who has not been out of his country since he ordered its borders closed in wake of the 2020 Covid outbreak - is being deemed as between leaders of two "pariah nations" - both at the receiving end of widespread sanctions.
