Extremely heavy rainfall likely to continue over Himachal, Uttarakhand: IMD
In its latest bulletin, the weather agency said that in Northwest India, there is an expectation of light to moderate scattered rainfall, possibly becoming fairly widespread, with isolated instances of heavy rainfall over the Jammu Division on Monday.

India registers fresh 1,590 Covid cases, 6 deaths
With the fresh fatalities, the death toll due to the virus reached 5,30,824. Of the six deaths, three were reported from Maharashtra and one each from Karnataka, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. India's total active caseload has risen to 8,601 which is 0.02 per cent of total cases. The recovery of 910 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally.

24 pilgrims die as bus falls into gorge in Uttarkashi, PM announces compensation
The bus had around 30 pilgrims from Panna district of Madhya Pradesh and a driver. The accident took place between Damta and Barnigad, which is around 70 km from Yamunotri Dham at around 7.15 p.m., after the driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel. It was said that this was his third trip without a rest. So far the bodies of 24 pilgrims have been retrieved while six others injured are undergoing treatment at Damta Primary Health Centre for first aid.

The ABP C-Voter Exit Poll indicates that the Congress is likely to form the next government in Uttarakhand. According to the Exit Poll, Congress is likely to win 35 seats in the 70-member Uttarakhand Assembly, while the ruling BJP is projected to win 29 seats in Uttarakhand. The Congress is falling short of the halfway mark of 36 by just one seat. Debutant Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is likely to win one seat.
