JGU scored the topmost rank on parameters of higher education excellence, including curriculum and pedagogy, research and innovation, leadership, internationalism, industry interface and faculty welfare and development. The rankings were based on a special survey where all respondents voted on select criteria.

UGC asks universities to allow students to write exams in regional languages even if course is in English medium

The letter states, "Once teaching, learning, and assessment are conducted in local languages, student engagement will eventually increase, leading to a higher success rate. This will significantly strengthen efforts to achieve the target of enhancing the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in higher education from 27% to 50% by the year 2035."

UGC comes out with new regulations for students' grievance redressal

The new regulations provide for the establishment of Students' Grievances Redressal Committee (SGRC) by all higher educational institutions and for the appointment of Ombudsperson(s) at the university level. The regulations have been revised in the light of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. According to UGC Chairman M. Jagadesh Kumar, the new regulations provide an additional forum for redressal of complaints against caste-based discrimination.

UK university launches Lord Karan Bilimoria scholarship for Indian students

The Lord Karan Bilimoria (Chancellor's) Scholarship will include a full tuition fee waiver and accommodation costs up to the duration of the programme for the winner, as well as four runner-up awards of 5,000 pounds tuition fee waiver. It is open only to Indian students applying for postgraduate study programmes at the University's campuses in Birmingham and Dubai.
