As part of a major branding makeover, the university renamed its School of Business and Economics to 'Loughborough Business School'.

"Das was in the Department of Economics, is currently on leave from Ashoka, serving as visiting faculty at the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (Deemed to be University) in Pune. After making extensive efforts to dissuade him, the University has accepted his resignation," the university vice-chancellor Somak Raychaudhury in an official statement said.

After making extensive efforts to dissuade him, the University has accepted his resignation," the university vice-chancellor Somak Raychaudhury in an official statement said.

Last year, the UGC had declared 21 universities as fake. The UGC stated that these institutions are not authorised to grant any degrees to students and alerted the students as well against taking admission in these institutions. It strongly advised parents and students to cross-check the authenticity of universities before enrolling in any course.

The Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar made the remarks while addressing the Centenary Year Convocation of Jamia Millia Islamia here at Vigyan Bhawan on Sunday.  Dhankar asked the students to be inquisitive and focus on objectivity when dealing with such situations.

According to the University Grants Commission (UGC), students will be able to do Ph.D. research in two or more academic subjects in an interdisciplinary manner. The UGC has informed all the universities and higher educational institutions of the country about the new rules of PhD. The admissions will be taken in universities.

The pictures, which have been going viral on social media, allude to the fact that 11.6 million students are about to enter a difficult jobs market for young people. On Thursday youth unemployment hit a record high for the second consecutive month as the economy's post-Covid growth spurt faded.
