Russia targets Ukraine's main port of Odesa hours after grain export deal agreed

"The enemy attacked the Odesa sea trade port with Kalibr cruise missiles," Ukraine's Operational Command South wrote on Telegram app, raising new doubts about the viability of the deal which was intended to release some 20 million tonnes of grain to ward of famine in large parts of the developing world, The Guardian reported.

Dmytro Orlov, the mayor of Enerhodar where the station is based, said the troops were "so scared that they ran around in a panic", with some now in intensive care in hospital, Daily Mail reported. The cause of the sudden hysteria is not known, although Russian President Vladimir Putin's men had been using the power plant to store many of their weapons, including missile systems.

President Zelenskyy on Sunday suspended Ivan Bakanov and Iryna Venediktova. However, the officials are yet to comment on their suspension. Over 60 former employees were now working against Ukraine in Russian-occupied areas, BBC reported quoting the Ukrainian President. "Such an array of crimes against the foundations of the national security of the state pose very serious questions to the relevant heads (of the two organisations)," President Zelenskyy said in a video address late Sunday night.

Ukraine joins NATO's programme of technological cooperation

According to the ministry, the associate membership in the MIP gives Ukraine a right to join the development and introduction of key NATO standards related to the interaction of combat control systems and related practices, Xinhua news agency reported. The MIP is a program of technological cooperation between the Armed Forces of NATO member states, which was established at the level of national developers of combat control information systems and aims to achieve interoperability of national C2IS systems.

Ukraine confirms fall of Lysychansk city to Russia

Lysychansk's fall came a week after its twin city Severodonetsk was captured by the Russian forces on June 25. Capture of the two cities means Russia now controls nearly all of Luhansk region and much of neighbouring Donetsk, the two Russian-backed separatist regions that form the industrial Donbas. Lysychansk and Severodonetsk were the last remaining Ukrainian positions in Luhansk.
