The actress was recently seen in the recreated version of the song "Ek bewafaa" by Bharat Goel. The number was originally sung by Sonu Nigam in the 2005 Akshay Kumar-Kareena Kapoor film "Bewafaa". In the music video of the recreated song, she features with Siddharth Gupta and Akshay Kharodia.

Nitika Gahlaut, the Superintendent of Police, Hansi has confirmed that the case against the actress was registered at the City Police station, according to media reports. She stated that the actress has been booked under section 3 (1)(u) of the SCs and STs act, and further investigation is in process. The FIR against Dutta was lodged after a complaint registered by Rajat Kalsan, convenor of the National Alliance for Dalit Human Rights on May 11.
