DMA challenges Ramdev's plea against FIRs in SC, calls him bizman clad as 'yoga guru'
DMA has called Ramdev a "businessman clad as a ‘yog guru'" and claimed that he does not have any degree or licence to practice Ayurveda and prescribe medicines. The medical body contended that Ramdev has insulted allopathy and "instigated" people to disregard Covid vaccines and treatment protocols.
SC asks Ramdev for his original video, statement on allopathy
Ramdev has filed a plea in the top court seeking a direction to club all the FIRs against him in connection with his statement against allopathy. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing Ramdev, argued before a bench headed by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana that his client has nothing against doctors, and he is entitled to have his views on allopathy.

In the plea, Ramdev sought transfer of FIRs lodged against by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) in Patna and Raipur to Delhi. He has been booked under Sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to aa infection of disease dangerous to life), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the IPC and other provisions of Disaster Management Act, 2005.

Justice C. Hari Shankar said: "If I feel some science is fake... Tomorrow I will feel homeopathy is fake. Do you mean they will file a suit against me? I put in on Twitter. "I do not think your allopathic profession is so fragile," the court told the DMA's counsel Rajiv Dutta.

In a letter to Ramdev, Harsh Vardhan said: "The statement disrespects the corona warriors and hurt the sentiments of the country. Your statement on allopathy can break the morale of healthcare workers and weaken our fight against Covid-19. " Allopathic medicines have saved lives of crores of people and comments that it is responsible for death of lakhs is extremely unfortunate, he added.
