Mehrauli murder accused confesses to chopping victim's body in 10 hrs

AS the investigation is still underway, police teams have visited and conducted searches to recover more remains of the 27-year-old victim, Shraddha Walkar, at the Mehrauli forest. The South district police teams have also contacted their counterparts for in east district's Pandav Nagar police station to help out in a DNA test after some remains, including a head, were recovered in Trilokpuri area in June.

The development comes after the Delhi Police had approached the court earlier in the morning seeking a permission for the test saying that he was not co-operating in the investigation. A day earlier, the police had also taken him to his house in Chattarpur, which he shared with Walkar, to recreate the crime. Sources have said that when Aftab was first called for questioning, he told the investigators the victim had left the house on May 22.

"They had arrived in Delhi on May 8 and stayed in a Hotel at Paharganj area for a week and then shifted to Chattarpur," said the sources. Police teams have conducted searches in the house and have found blood stains in the kitchen. For the second time on Tuesday morning, the police team had taken the accused Aftab Ameen Poonawala to the Mehrauli forest area to recover the remains of the body of the victim.
