Aaftab reaches FSL Rohini for polygraph test

The test was left incomplete on November 25. A senior FSL official said that for the past three days, officials have been asking him questions and the polygraph test is likely to continue further. According to sources, Aaftab was asked about 50 to 60 questions on November 25, to which he replied in English and stayed calm during the entire session.

Aaftab Amin Poonawalla was produced before the Saket court through video conferencing from the Ambedkar hospital, where he was taken for a medical check up. He will be shifted to Tihar jail. The police will most likely seek an extension as the investigation is yet to be completed. Due to investigators not able to extract the information needed to push the investigation further, Poonawalla's polygraph test was also left incomplete on Friday. Sources said that investigators need to extract information from Poonawalla and they need time for it.

Teams of Delhi Police had visited Aaftab's house in Chattarpur on Wednesday. "Five knives were recovered during the search on Wednesday... It is not yet clear if they were used in dismembering Shraddha's body. The knives have been sent for forensic examination," the sources said. Meanwhile, a polygraph test on Aaftab is presently underway at the forensic science laboratory (FSL) in Rohini.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also holds the home portfolio, said he had seen the contents which were "very serious", and said the matter needs to be investigated. "Without blaming anybody, we need to know the truth... If the police had acted in a timely manner, this (killing of Shraddha by Poonawala) could have been avoided," Fadnavis told mediapersons.
