They have also now won two Paris quotas at the event, with Rudrankksh Patil picking up the first in the men's 10m air rifle, earlier in the championship.

India has also picked up one Paris 2024 Olympics quota place after Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil stunned a high-quality field on Friday to become the 10 air rifle men's world champion. Udhayveer shot a combined score of 580 after the precision and rapid-fire rounds in the junior men's sports pistol, to emerge on top of the 23-strong field.

With this victory, the 18-year-old Patil also secured a quota place for India for the Paris 2024 Olympics. This is India's second quota in shooting for the Summer Games after trap shooter Bhowneesh Mendiratta, who had won the first in the men's trap at the Shotgun World Championships in Osijek, Croatia. Silver medallist at the Junior World Championships in Lima last year and a gold medallist at the Junior World Cup in Suhl earlier this year, this was Rudrankksh's first medal of any hue at the senior level.

Esha, Naamya and Vibhuti finished fourth in the first round of qualification with a score of 856 to make it to the next stage in third position. In the next round they shot 437 to finish behind the Germans in fourth position to qualify for the bronze medal match. China won the gold in the event while Korea won silver.

In what looks like a mixed bag for Indian sports, shooting, which has been India's highest medal-grosser in the last several editions of the CWG, will return to the fold after being removed from the 2022 Birmingham edition, while wrestling, in which India are the traditional powerhouse in CWG, has got a short shrift.
Ruchita Vinerkar wins gold in Women's 10m Air Pistol T5 trials

Ruchita shot 16 while Divya only managed to shoot 14 in the selection trials final. Ruchita finished fourth in the qualifiers in the 294-strong field with a score of 576 after the allocated 60-shots. Divya was seventh with 574 while Maharashtra's Sakshi Suryavanshi topped with a score of 580. In the semifinal stage, Ruchita topped with 251.1 while Divya was second with 248.7, elevating both to the gold medal shootout.
Changwon 2022 World Cup: Singhraj adds medals to India's tally

According to information received here, Singhraj claimed the P4 - Mixed 50m Pistol individual bronze and teamed up with Rahul Jakhar and Deepender Singh to take the Team silver. Rifle shooter Sidhartha Babu claimed the bronze in R3 - Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone SH1 finals. Overall, India have one gold, two silver and three bronze medals to take third place in the medals table at the ongoing event that runs until August 24, 2022.
