Samsung bets big on Galaxy S22 series, 5G lineup amid chip crunch
Samsung on Thursday said that despite a poor demand for smartphones and tablets amid weak seasonality and uncertainties over component supply, it aims to secure solid profitability by expanding flagship sales such as Galaxy S21 FE and upcoming release of a new Galaxy S series.The company further said that it will proactively target replacement demand with competitive mass-market 5G lineup and growth opportunities in the market
Samsung logs record sales, 4-year-high operating profit in Q4
Samsung on Thursday reported strong fourth-quarter earnings on robust chip business and brisk sales of consumer electronics. Net profit rose 64.04 per cent from a year earlier to 10.8 trillion won ($9 billion) in the October-December period, the world's largest memory chip and smartphone vendor said in a regulatory filing. Operating profit jumped 53.3 per cent to 13.8 trillion won, the highest fourth-quarter operating profit since 2017.

The 50MP sensor on the Galaxy A23 will support Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It will be accompanied by a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and two 2MP sensors for macro and bokeh shots, reports GizmoChina. According to the industry sources, the Galaxy A23 will also have 4G and 5G versions with different specs sheets.

The smartphone maker plans to unveil the next generation of Galaxy S during the event. "At Unpacked in February 2022, we will introduce you to the most noteworthy S series device we have ever created," Samsung President TM Roh, head of the company's MX Business, wrote in a blog post. "The next generation of Galaxy S is here, bringing together the greatest experiences of our Samsung Galaxy into one ultimate device."
