The young opening pair of Jaiswal (84* not out) and Gill (77 off 47) put a 165-run opening partnership in just 15.3 overs in an emphatic nine-wicket win over the West Indies in Florida on Saturday, levelling the T20I series 2-2.

Rohit Sharma played the first ODI but was absent from the next two games and the subsequent T20I series in West Indies.

While India may not have advanced past the semi-final stage in the last two Men's Cricket World Cups, the skipper believes his side can emulate the 2011 success of his compatriots. 

Tilak, who was India's leading scorer with 39 off 22 deliveries in the first T20I in Trinidad, came up with another gem of innings in the second match on Sunday as he scored 51 off 41 deliveries, studded with five fours and a six.

The dream of lifting a major trophy has been a long-standing dream for India, who have faltered at every step in the quest for it since winning the 2013 Champions Trophy in England, with Rohit being a part of it.

"Siraj, I have been watching him closely. He's taken such a giant step. He has led this attack. I don't want anyone to lead the attack. I want everyone to lead when they are having the ball in their hand. You want the entire pace battery taking the responsibility," he said.

The 36-year old Rohit played a 103 run-knock which helped India captain rise three places and re-enter the top 10 once again, to be rated slightly ahead of compatriot Rishabh Pant (11th) and former skipper Virat Kohli (14th) as the highest-ranked Indian batter.

While reaching their respective centuries, Jaiswal and Rohit brought up India's first 200+ opening partnership against West Indies in Tests through their mammoth 229-run opening stand. Jaiswal (116 not out, with 12 boundaries) and Virat Kohli (four not out) remained unbeaten till tea, and were expected to extend India's lead beyond 100 on a slow pitch.

India will be aiming for their third title and the second at home when they begin their campaign in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup against Australia in Chennai on October 8. The hosts will play all their nine league matches at different venues including the new Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
