Bharat Jodo Yatra to end in Karnataka on Sunday; Congress thanks people for making it a success
Karnataka Congress President D.K. Shivakumar on Saturday stated that the padayatra will cross the state at 11 a.m. Lakhs of people have participated in the padayatra across the state. Youth, women and farmers have participated in the rally in large numbers. They have not seen anything political in this. Everyone has taken part to establish peace in the country, Shivakumar stated.

Meanwhile, party sources confirmed that another scion of the Gandhi family, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is most likely to take part in the padayatra on Saturday. The padayatra resumed from Mantralaya Temple Circle in Andhra Pradesh at 6 a.m. It will enter Karnataka's Gillesegur in Raichur district at 10 a.m.

He resumed the Yatra from Banavasi village in Yemmiganur mandal in the morning. Accompanied by leaders and workers of the party, he walked till Mugati village. Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) chief S. Sailajanath, former union minister Pallam Raju, former MP K. Bapiraju and other leaders and hundreds of workers participated in the Yatra.

A meeting room container has been converted into the polling booth for the Congress Presidential election. The polling began at 10 a.m.

Congress General Secretary in-charge Jairam Ramesh said, "There've been queries on where @RahulGandhi will cast his vote tomorrow for Congress Presidential election. There should be no speculation. He will be voting at the #BharatJodoYatra campsite in Sanganakallu, Ballari along with around 40 other Bharat Yatris who are PCC delegates." Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will also cast his vote at the party headquarters here.

Singh, who has been part of the Yatra from the very first day, has the experience of carrying out the Narmada Yatra which had yielded good results for the party in Madhya Pradesh, while Ramesh has been leading the media team and also countering the BJP's attacks. Ramesh has been saying that the Bharat Jodo Yatra will provide much-needed oxygen to the party.
