Prabhas mania overwhelms fans in Telugu states as 'Adipurush' releases

Theatres in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh saw wild celebrations by the actor's fans. The boisterous film buffs were seen dancing and raising slogans outside the theatres just before the screening of 'Adipurush' started in the morning. Carrying posters of Prabhas, the fans danced in gay abandon.

Videos and pictures from Prabhas' visit to the temple are doing rounds on social media. One of the photographs show Prabhas dressed in an all white Indian wear and was given a red shawl in the temple which he wrapped around him. He greeted the fans while leaving the venue by waving at them.

He recalled hairstyling of South superstar Prabhas for the 2015 film, which was directed by S. S. Rajamouli. Along with Prabhas, it also features Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishna, Sathyaraj, and Nassar. He said: "In 'Baahubali', we added hair extensions for Prabhas. Since there were many scenes where he had to ride a horse, we made him play badminton to see how much his hair can bounce while running and how it would look in slow motion while shooting."

The actor recently opened up about his experience of working with Prabhas for the first time, stating that the Baahubali star's humility is what sets him apart as a big superstar. Sunny, who will be seen playing Lakshman in the film, said: "Prabhas is very humble and that's what makes him a big superstar. Even on sets, he was very organised and always on time. He used to take care of all the people present on set."

On Prabhas's birthday, 'Adipurush' team releases his Lord Ram look

The look was released on Sunday to coincide with the birthday of the actor who plays the lead in the film. The film is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on January 12 next year and will also be available in 3D. Prabhas, who shared his look in the film on social media, wrote: "Maryada Purushottam Prabhu Shree Ram. 'Adipurush' releases in theatres on January 12, 2023, in IMAX & 3D!"

Lav Kush Ramlila Committee Secretary Arjun Kumar, in a statement, said: "Prabhas played Lord Rama in 'Adipurush' and thus we thought to invite him as a chief guest along with the President of India and the Delhi Chief Minister. All three will shoot the arrows to kill Ravana in Ramlila."

The makers of 'Adipurush', which has been directed by Om Raut, have spent a fortune on the visual effects. The film has reportedly been made on a budget of over INR 400 crores, most of which has been spent on the VFX but, it seems like the output is far from what the audience was expecting.

"Adipurush" is Raut's take on the 'Ramayana' by Valmiki. The film is set 7,000 years ago and in the film, Prabhas's character is not called Lord Ram, he is Raghav, which is another name for Ram. Sita, played by Kriti Sanon, is called Janaki (as in King Janaka's daughter), while Saif Ali Khan's Ravana is Lankesh (lord of Lanka), which are also derivatives of their 'Ramayana' names, notes 'Variety'.
