3 infiltrators killed, 4 army soldiers injured on LoC

Defence sources said Pakistan Army started heavy shelling in Khour area of LoC's Akhnoor sector on Tuesday evening to facilitate infiltration of terrorists. Four army soldiers were injured in Pakistani shelling and three terrorists were killed in Indian retaliatory action while the infiltration bid was foiled.

The Army Chief also said that the forces deployed at Line of Control are giving a befitting reply to Pakistan's Ceasefire violations. "There has been a around 44 per cent increase in ceasefire violations by Pakistan at the LoC," said General Naravane, speaking during the Army Day celebrations on January 15 in Delhi.
Pakistani intruder shot dead in Punjab's Gurdaspur sector

"The BSF personnel detected suspicious movement of an intruder from the Pakistan side near the barbed fence inside Indian territory at 8.45 p.m. on Thursday. Sensing imminent threat, the troops opened fire and shot dead the intruder," the BSF (Punjab Frontier) said on Twitter.

Before his death, Aamir gave a statement to the police saying that his daughter, son, wife and his nephew poured petrol on him and set him ablaze after he objected to his daughter's affair.

Defence ministry spokesman, Colonel Devender Anand said at about 3.30 p.m. on Friday Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and shelling with mortars along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district. Defence sources said Naib Subedar Ravinder Kumar was injured and later succumbed to the critical injuries sustained in the Pakistani firing.
Steep rise in ceasefire violations, terrorist killings on a high in Jammu and Kashmir

Till December 28 this year, Pakistan carried out 4700 incidents of ceasefire violations at Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. Ceasefire violations have jumped to 4700, highest in the last 17 years. In 2019, there were 3168 ceasefire violations. Interestingly, out of the 3168 ceasefire violations 1551 have taken place since August.
200 terrorists in PoK waiting to intrude India: Army

There were continuous reports of 200-250 Pakistani terrorists in launch-pads of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) waiting to intrude the border, according to Lt-Gen BS Raju, who heads the strategically-located XV Corps of the Army that is responsible for maintaining vigil along the LoC and tackling militancy in the hinterland.

MEA Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said that Pakistan’s accusation turned out to be factually “incorrect and false”, following a detailed investigation. Pakistan had alleged that Indian troops attacked United Nations Military Observers (UNMO) troops in the Chirikot sector along the LoC.
