'Story of Things' is an anthology of 5 episodes, with each narrating a tale of paranormal phenomena witnessed by people in their regular life. The series premieres January 6 on SonyLIV. "Story of Things is essentially a drama series that overlaps multiple genres. In fact, each episode has a completely different mood, feel and treatment to it based on the core idea of the story," the director of the series, George K. Antoney, said.

The actor, who is quite occupied in promoting Mani Ratnam's dream project 'Ponniyin Selvan: I', appeared on 'The Kapil Sharma Show' along with Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan and Sobhita Dhulipala.

According to 'Variety', while the franchise has lived on thanks to Netflix's 'Cobra Kai' series, which just debuted its fifth season on the streaming platform, this new 'Karate Kid' project will be the franchise's first film offering since a 2010 reboot starring Jaden Smith.

In Hindi, it is set to bring filmmaker Sudhir Mishra's 'Tanaav', which stars Manav Vij, Sumit Kaul, Rajat Kapoor, Shashank Arora, Arbaaz Khan, Zarina Wahab, Ekta Kaul, Waluscha De Sousa, Danish Hussain, Satyadeep Mishra, Sukhmani Sadana, Sahiba Bali, Amit Gaur, Arslan Goni, Rockey Raina, M.K. Raina, Sheen Dass and Aryaman Seth.

The distributor has picked up rights in North America, Latin America, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, reports 'Variety'. The film, which is written and directed by Davy Chou, will be re-titled as 'Return to Seoul'. It premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday.

Vidhi, who essays the role of Soumya on the show says: "Watching Soumya's character finally making professional headway, after receiving so much flak from her own family and husband, has been quite a rejuvenating process." In the latest track of the show, Soumya submits her concept to the production house who respond to her positively and request her to write for them often. But when she shares this news with her husband Armaan (Vijayendra Kumeria), he expresses his disapproval.

Talking about his character, Vidhi shares, "I am very excited to be a part of this show as my character is very strong, independent and ambitious but yet she has utmost love and respect for her family."She adds, "In a way, I relate to my character on a personal level as I, too, believe in chasing dreams and turning them into reality with sheer hard work. But things will soon change for her as life will throw a lot of situations in Saumya's path after her marriage with Armaan Oberoi who is a successful personality."

SPNI is an indirect subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment. After the closing of the deal, the new company will be publicly listed in India. The closing of the transaction is subject to certain customary closing conditions, including regulatory, shareholder, and third- party approvals. Punit Goenka will lead the combined company as its Managing Director and CEO.

What makes one a bit sad is that Zee TV, India's oldest television channel, will now merge with Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), with Sony slated to hold the majority stake of 53 per cent as against Zeel's 47 per cent.
