Thyagraj Stadium row: IAS officer who used to walk dog transferred to Ladakh

The Ministry of Home Affairs has transferred Khirwar to Ladakh and Dugga to Arunachal Pradesh. As per the media report, the government-run Thyagraj Stadium was being closed for sports activities earlier than usual so that the bureaucrat could walk his dog at the facility.
Army chief, top military brass to review deployment along China, Pak borders

The military top brass will discuss the force preparedness at the Line of Actual Control with China and Line of Control with Pakistan. They will be there for three days and hold deliberations over various military issues amid changing geopolitical turmoil. India and China have been engaged in a border dispute for around almost two years and talks are on to resolve the matter.
China building Pangong bridge in area occupied since 1962: Govt tells Parliament

“The government has taken note of a bridge being constructed by China on Pangong Lake. This bridge is being constructed in areas that have continued to be under the illegal occupation of China since 1962. The Government of India has never accepted this illegal occupation,” Minister of state for external affairs V. Murleedharan said in the Lok Sabha. The govt also reiterated that India will never recognise and accept this illegal occupation.
Threats by no means reduced at borders with China: Army chief

Addressing Indian Army's annual conference, Naravane said, "We will continue to deal with the PLA (People's Liberation Army) in a firm, resolute and peaceful manner, while ensuring the sanctity of our claims. Necessary safeguards are in place." The army chief said that there have been positive developments, both along the country's Northern and Western borders in the last one year.

The two sides will discuss ways to expedite the disengagement process and hence demilitarise the sites of contention in eastern Ladakh. The talks are likely to be held at the Chushul Border point on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the report added quoting people who are familier with the development. India will likely push for a prompt disengagement of the militarised sites, including the Depsang Bulge and Demchok.
India strongly objects to illegal construction of bridge on Pangong Lake by China

Talking about reports about a bridge being built by the neighbouring country on the Chinese side of Pangong lake, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, "The government has been monitoring this activity closely. This bridge is being constructed in areas that have been under illegal occupation by China for around 60 years now. As you are well aware, India has never accepted such illegal occupation."

The Border law is seen as a legal assertion to the Chinese territorial claims, especially with India and Bhutan with which it has territorial disputes. BRO gets Guinness recognition for building road at 19,024 ft in Ladakh

The Director General of BRO, Lieutenant Genreal Rajeev Chaudhry, received the Guinness World Records certificate on Tuesday for the achievement of constructing and black topping the world's highest motorable road at 19,024 feet in Ladakh.
