The minister said this while launching the 'Mera Maati Mera Desh' campaign in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district. The 'Mera Maati Mera Desh' campaign marks the beginning of the Amrit Kalash Yatras all over the country, which includes collection of mitti and rice from every household. 
India’s moon rover Pragyan put to sleep: ISRO

In a message on the social media platform X Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said: “The Rover completed its assignments. It is now safely parked and set into Sleep mode. APXS and LIBS payloads are turned off. Data from these payloads is transmitted to the Earth via the Lander.”

The PSLV-XL variant rocket carries the 1,480.7 kg Aditya-L1 spacecraft as its sole passenger that will study the solar activities. The 44.4 metre tall PSLV-C57 rocket with a lift off mass of 321 ton carrying Aditya-L1 -- named after the Sun God in Hindu mythology -- blasted off from the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) here at 11.50 a.m.

Interestingly, India on August 23 reached the Moon with its lander safely landing on the lunar soil in a textbook style. Later the rover rolled down and started doing experiments.

In a post on social media platform X on Monday, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said: “On August 27, 2023, the Rover came across a 4-meter diameter crater positioned 3 meters ahead of its location. The Rover was commanded to retrace the path. It’s now safely heading on a new path.”

The Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft consisted of a propulsion module (weighing 2,148 kg), a lander named Vikram (1,723.89 kg) and a rover named Pragyan (26 kg). It landed near the South Pole of the Moon on August 23 after travelling about 3.84 lakh km for over 40 days.
