Israeli embassy staff member attacked in Beijing, reason unclear for now

The embassy employee was attacked early afternoon (China time) in Beijing “not too far” from the Israeli embassy premises and is in hospital, a senior Israeli official at the Beijing embassy told IANS, without providing details.

The flights are intended for reserve soldiers who received an emergency call-up by the Israeli military, as well as other security and rescue personnel abroad whose presence in Israel is deemed essential, Xinhua news agency quoted the statement as saying. It added that the flights are free of charge, with El Al covering the costs along with financial entities of the US.

In an update, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus on Friday that at least 1,300 Israeli civilians and soldiers have been killed since the Hamas launched its brutal attack on October 7, CNN reported. Conricus added that 3,391 people have been injured in the terrorist attacks.
Hamas claims Israeli airstrikes in Gaza kill 13 hostages

Without mentioning the nationalities of the victims, the armed wing said that "13 prisoners, including foreigners" were killed in five locations targeted by Israeli fighter jets, the BBC reported. According to Israli authorities, Hamas militants are holding as many as 150 people hostage in Gaza following the October 7 surprise attack.
