RCB's Rajat Patidar likely to miss first half of IPL 2023 with heel injury: Report

According to an ESPNcricinfo report, Patidar is currently undergoing rehab at the NCA in Bengaluru and has been advised to rest for the next three weeks. An MRI scan will decide his participation in the second half of the tournament. He picked up the injury prior to joining the camp, and will need an NCA clearance before linking.

The Punjab based franchise have named uncapped Australian batter Matthew Short as Bairstow's replacement for the 2023 season. It will be Short's maiden IPL experience. "We regret to inform you that Jonny Bairstow will not be a part of the IPL this season because of his injury. We wish him the best and look forward to seeing him next season," the PBKS said in a tweet.

After working as the bowling coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore in two seasons of the IPL, Nehra was made the head coach of the Titans' ahead of their first foray into the tournament in 2022, which they ended by winning the trophy. "Honestly, he's very great. He always leaves us free; and says it is up to you, that you have to come to the ground and use the time very well. But if you want to rest, then ask for it. He's like a proper friend like you need something, then speak about it to me or if you are coming to the ground, then work very well."

Maxwell had broken his left fibula at a friend's birthday party immediately after the conclusion of Australia's campaign in the Men's T20 World Cup at home in November last year. He had to undergo surgery and rehabilitation to make a competitive comeback to cricket through the ODI series against India, where he played the opening game in Mumbai.

Wong said she has not done anything special on Friday but just bowled to a good rhythm. The English bowler had been in hat-trick situations a few times earlier too and missed on a few occasions. "We are waiting for Mukesh but we do not have much hope. He was one of our bowling mainstays last year. It will be unfortunate if he misses out," Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of CSK, was quoted as saying in the report. Choudhary's last game of competitive cricket was a List A match for his state team Maharashtra in December 2022 and has been out of action since then.

In July 2015, the Justice Lodha Committee handed a two-year ban to CSK and Rajasthan Royals for their owners' involvement in the IPL 2013 fixing scandal, due to which Dhoni moved to playing for the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiants for two years. March had recently clinched the Player of the Series award in Australia's 2-1 ODI series win over India, making 194 runs at an average of 97, including two half-centuries coming in as a makeshift opener. He had played a key role in Australia's 2021 T20 World Cup triumph as a number three batter and Ponting expects him to do the same for Delhi, apart from shouldering some bowling duties.
