M2 Silicon Chip evidence spotted ahead of Apple event

The evidence of the M2 chip for the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and other Macs has been spotted ahead of Apple's event on Tuesday. Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter said a "developer source" has informed him that in recent weeks, Apple has been testing a chip with an eight-core CPU and a 10-core GPU across multiple Macs on the latest macOS beta, reports MacRumors.
Apple supplier BOE reportedly facing iPhone display production issues

According to The Elec, the shortage will impact production "this month and next month". BOE gets its display driver ICs for Apple's iPhone display panels from LX Semicon. LX Semicon is apparently supplying display driver ICs to LG Display before BOE. As a result, BOE is expected to drop its OLED panel production volume from three million units to two million units next month. Apple is expected to have ordered up to 10 million units of OLED panels for iPhones to BOE for the first half of 2022.
Google One VPN is now available on iPhones

While a Google-run VPN has been available on the platform for months via the Google Fi cell service, the latest update means that anyone who pays for 2TB or more of Google One storage should now also get a VPN for their phone, reports The Verge. VPN is available to people in 18 countries, including the US, the UK, Canada, and Mexico. iPhone users may be familiar with the idea of an upgraded storage plan that also comes with a way to keep your IP and Internet traffic private.
Apple reverses verification requirement for educational discounts in US

According to 9To5Mac, the tech giant is no longer requiring verification of eligibility, but stricter purchasing quantity limits remain. Similar to verification for Apple Music student plans, Apple started using UNiDAYS for verification through the Apple Education Store on Wednesday. This meant that shoppers had to verify their eligibility using UNiDAYS in order to lock in the 10 per cent discount on iPads, Macs and accessories, the report said.
